How it works

Register

This intrepid lady traveler and her husband traveled by paddle-wheeler up the Kasai River, then trekked toward the Lomami River. There are instances of hunting hippopotamus and waterbuck, with elephant bagged near Lake Kivu. On the Ruindi Plain, Mrs. Strickland collected lion, then returned to camp to enjoy a well-earned whiskey and soda. Heading into the thick fastness of the Ituri Forest, buffalo and additional elephant were taken. Original red cloth rubbed and soiled, rear outer joint split and amateurishly repaired. Original map endpapers tanned, but remain firm and tight. Foxing to contents, more so to prelims and end. Illustrated with photo plates. Interestingly, this copy came from the Gilgil Country Club of Nakura, Kenya with several small stamps to endpapers and interior.
