This is the second edition, the first edition was completely sold out a few days after publication.
Two pages of text by Ernest Glanville. The second edition contains more photographs, together with a diagram showing where the chief incidents of the revolt took place.
Original illustrated landscape stapled paper wrap, with folding map and panorama view with approx 58 authentic photographs of this crisis in 1922.

Wraps are in near fine condition with no tears. Contents clean and bright with no markings.
2.) Included in this lot is a first edition copy of Songs by the Stoep by John Runcie, published by Robt. A. Thompson in 1905. It is inscribed on the front endpaper by the author to Ernest Glanville who wrote the introductory pages of Through the Red Revolt on the Rand. Glanville wrote many novels of South African life. He was at one time editor of The Cape Argus.
Internally the book is clean. The binding is tight although the cloth boards have some markings.
