The volume is particularly interesting as the last of its kind before Union.
The red mottled cloth-boards, gilt to the front and spine, are rubbed and stained but robust with unsunned spine and tight binding. The front paste-down has the remains of a library label, while the free endpapers are lightly sunned. The contents - viii + 302 pp of main entries, pension information, miscellaneous lists, records of service and alphabeticial list of officers + large (10-panel) four-colour folding map of the colony at the front - are complete, fine, unmarked and undiscoloured.
This near-fine copy provides, among other things, almost inexhaustible avenues for genealogical research.
