Gilt titles and decorative design to the spines. Head and heals are slightly bumped and also has a bit of rubbing along the top/bottom edges.
The book contains beautiful color plates, a frontispiece portrait of William J. Burchell, vignettes and engravings throughout.
There is also a fold-out map inserted loosely at the back of Vol. 1.
The edition of this facsimile reprint is limited to 1000 copies, this is No. 715. Both the bindings and books are all in very good condition.
