Second edition with additions and alterations (the "best" edition), in two volumes (pp. xvi, 427; 372). Quarto (27 cm) in full scarlet polished calf, fine gilt decoration and titles, a.e.g., decorative endpapers with gilt edges; illustrated with aquatints by Danielle and coloured charts; lightly sun-faded spines.
