A very good copy indeed of this scarce volume on Free State & Natal, with much detailed information on people (with biographical information) & towns. This volume has the rare section of 119 pages on the Free State, being about the only source for people from that colony shortly after the conclusion of the Anglo-Boer War. The remaining 667 pages deal with the Colony of Natal. Both sections are profusely illustrated with quality photos & portraits. Original full red morocco, slightly rubbed at spine & corners, covers lightly marked, marbled paste-downs show signs of old sellotape. An unusually good copy of this large & heavy volume that often suffers binding damage.
