The map at the end of the book shows Escom's transmission lines, power stations and areas of the Commission's licensed electricity supply - much less than half the area of South Africa, and excluding, for example, the whole of the Free State.

Maroon cloth-boards, endpapers printed with a maroon pattern, 64 pp of monochrome-illustrated text plus folded colour map at the back.

Dr H J van der Bijl, Escom's chairman for the full 1923-1948 period, was the first signatory of the cheque referred to below.

CONDITION. Very good overall except for insect damage to the lower left of the upper board. unmarked and complete.

Loosely inserted is a reproduction of a cheque for fourteen million five hundred pounds paid by Escom for the entire shareholding of the Victoria Falls and Transvaal Power Company Ltd.
