Author was correspondent to the 'Daily Mail' & the 'Sphere' during the Boer War. He was present at the battle of Pieters Hill and the Relief of Ladysmith, after which a 6-day ride took him through Basutoland via Matatiele, Maseru, and Ladybrand, to Bloemfontein.

Gilt on blue textured boards. 477pp illustrated 8vo.

No inscription. sello remains on pastedowns. edges tanned. gilt still bright, an attractive bright VG copy. no dustwrapper.
