1. the Cabinet Card was clearly intended to advertise the services of Warmkessel's Studio, of Allentown, Pennsylvania.
2. the CDV, is a bit less direct, but was probably also issued to show, in a humorous fashion, that S. F. Conant, photographer in Skowhegan Maine, had mastered the technical aspects of his art.
