Both volumes are limited to 750 copies and are bound in book form with cloth boards and gilt titling on the spines. Both volumes have their original dust jackets. The volume dated 1973 is copy number 357 and the limitation statement is signed by Rhona Collett, Dorothy Furness, Hilda Mason, Esme Francis Franklin, Cythna Letty, Lois Martin Povall and Ethel May Dixie, who contributed colour plates. It has 14 prelims and 76 pages in vol 1 and the pagination goes to page 80 in vol 2 - both being bound in one volume. The volume dated 1975 has 10 prelims, 80 pages in the first part, volume3, and 80 pages in the second part, vol. 4 and a total of 8 colour plates. The limitation page is signed by the artists, such as Auriol Batten, Fay Anderson, Stanley Charles Seagrief, Marjorie Willie, Elise Buitendach. Together, these 2 books contain volumes 1 to 4. Both volumes are profusely illustrated with black and white figures, drawings, maps, etc. For those who want a collection of the signatures of some of the finest botanical artists working in southern Africa, this lot is a good buy.
