Nicolaas ("Seer") Janse van Rensburg was considered to be a prophet of the Boere. His predictions of future events were encased in a patriotic, religious frame and , during the Boer War, he became an advisor to General de la Rey and President Steyn. De la Rey considered him a prophet of God.
