Frittering to head & tail of spine but no loss, front board rubbed, gilt still bright, bookplate to front pastedown (James Hamilton Russell). The large folding Military Map of The Transvaal and two smaller foldout maps of Laing's Nek & Majuba are present. The former is very clean and has one small repaired tear at the edge, the others feature minor foxing but no tears, the hinges are a little strained with the front shaken but sound, the rear parting but strong, overall a fairly sound and clean G-VG copy for its age.
