Description: Vinyl record. Wrex Tarr\'s Chilapalapa Stories. Chilapalapa - called \'Fanagalo\'in South Africa - is a simplified form of Ndebele, which in turn is based on Zulu. English-speaking immigrants to Rhodesia picked up a few words of Ndebele, mixed it with some fractured English, and it became the lingua franca of South Africa. It is possibly epitomised best in the story of the English lady, newly arrived in Rhodesia, who told her cook to \'take lo fowl and voetsak lo feathers\'.
