A BREATH FROM THE VELDT
The author was an artist of such a remarkable talent that he was admitted to the Royal Academy at the age of ten, the youngest student ever enrolled. At the time of his death he was the Academy's President.
He lived a varied life in the pursuit of his interests and became in turn a soldier, a sailor, a British Consul, a big game hunter and much more. He authored more than 20 books, the second one being A Breath From the Veldt, which he not only wrote but illustrated with a keen attention to detail found in few, if any, other books of its kind.
