Fitzpatrick was born in Kings Williams Town in 1862.  He had a varied career; bank clerk, digger at Pilgrims Rest, storekeeper, transport rider, newspaper editor, mining finance company owner, author, politician and citrus pioneer.    He is perhaps remembered mostly for his book "Jock of the Bushveld" and "The Transvaal from Within".

Here is the full story of this amazing man's life with no detail of his triumphs and his personal sorrows omitted.
