Czech (Dr. Kenneth P.) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785-1999 (Second enlarged edition, Trophy Room Press, 2011), page 33, describes this as the American edition of John Boyes’ King of the Wa-Kikuyu, published in London in 1911. ‘This is an excellent African adventure story but with only a few pages of hunting for rhinoceros, leopard and lion in British East Africa. Boyes became the virtual leader of the Kikuyu tribe and relates his observations of the people and intertribal warfare.’
