Czech (Kenneth) Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785 -1999, page 153: originally published in Hungarian this book ably describes the author's encounters with big game both before and after the Great War. Prior to World War I Kittenberger had collected specimens for the Hungarian National Museum. With the outbreak of hostilities in 1914, he was imprisoned in India, before finally realizing his chance to return to Africa in 1926. At various times he hunted on the Athi Plains of Kenya, the region just north of Lake Victoria in Uganda, and the Ruvana Plains of northern Tanganyika. He relates his adventures hunting lion, hippo, leopard ran and other plains game, but is particularly adept at describing his elephant and buffalo efforts.
