One Law for One Nation

The Bill was adopted by the Constitutional Assembly on 9th May, 1996. This copy bears the signatures of Nelson Mandela, F.W. de Klerk, Thabo Mbeki, Cyril Ramaphosa, Roelf Meyer and Mohammed Valli Moosa and two others who are unidentified.

It is signed 'To Saliem Kahn' who attended the sitting and notes, 'The proceedings were very informative and we all felt a great sense of pride at the achievement of the movement. The public was invited to join the ministers in a separate hall, and I managed to access those individuals reflected on the document.'

Mr Kahn was affiliated with the senior leadership of the United Democratic Movement and was invited to the first sitting of Parliament. All public visitors were given a copy of the Constitution.

290 x 210 mm, this copy is in fine condition and has been mounted on a black backing board and contained in a white frame under glass.
