Three original communiques relating to the Laboratory of Dr. Juluis Loevy and General Baden Powell and his office:
1) A hand-written letter to General Baden-Powell by E Schmoepf from the Laboratory of Dr. Julius Loevy, dated 15 February 1901. “Herein enclosed I beg to submit a list of apparatus & chemicals required by M Beevor, Esq, Major P.M.O. SA Constabulary and received & signed for by this gentleman… ”At the same time I should thank your excellency for informing me, where I would have to apply for payment of this account”.
2) A one-page memo to General Baden-Powell “With reference to my letter of the 16 Febr No 317 and yours of 20th Febr I beg to hand you herewith a further letter from Mr. E. Schmoepf, representing Dr. Loevy’s Laboratory”. Initialised M.O.B.
3) A four-page receipt with the heading “Received from Dr. Julius Loevy Chemical and Metallurgical Laboratory, Johannesburg, the following Apparatus”. Signed by Major M Beevor, S.A. Constabulary, and dated 12 February, 1901.
