James Stevenson-Hamilton was an Irish-born South African nature conservationist and game ranger. His books about the Low-Veld and its game are valuable sources as his descriptions of animals are based on direct observations. It was through his efforts that the Kruger National Park was eventually expanded up to the Limpopo River.
This is the first Afrikaans edition (translated by H.L. Gonin) of Stevenson-Hamilton's "The Low-Veld: Its Life and Its People".
Book is clean and square and in fine condition. The scarce original dust jacket is complete but with some fraying on the rear panel and mild tape repair at the tears (see images).
