De Luxe subscribers edition - Green Leather with gilt lettering. Green full leather-covered boards. Gilt title on front cover. Spine has four raised bands, gilt names of authors and publisher's mark. Limited to 400 copies, this being No 276. Illustrated with paintings by von Below, Anderson and others. Signed by both authors and artists. 167 Colour plates of each species; colour frontispiece., fold out map and line drawings in text. 

Preliminary pages i-lxiv include facsimile reprints of 1796 illustrations, introduction to the species, fold-out map of distribution of Ericas in the Cape Province (1967) and complete list of the species recorded in southern Africa. pp 1-180. This work represents a cross-section of the genus Erica as a whole throughout Southern Africa and 167 species are illustrated in full colour and great detail. Species representative of each section of the genus are chosen with special reference to size, range of form, colour variations and geographical distribution.Overall in good condition.

The spine has faded to a bluer green where the slip case does not cover the leather, and the pages where the authors and artists have signed is intact but there is a section where you can see the book's binding. The slipcase is slightly edgeworn.
