The book details:

The arrival of George Schmidt (Georg Schmidt), the first Moravian missionary sent to South Africa in 1737 by the Moravian Church, and his work evangelising the Khoi-Khoi people in Baviaanskloof (later renamed Genadendal, meaning "Valley of Grace").

The opposition Schmidt and the mission faced from local Dutch colonial authorities and farmers, leading to Schmidt's departure.

The return of Moravian missionaries to Baviaanskloof in 1792 and the growth of the community through the turn of the 19th century (up to 1806), including events surrounding local historical contexts like the Battle of Muizenberg and the Corps Pandouren. (Sources: Wikipedia & Sabinet African Journals)
