Deluxe limited edition. i-xiii pages prelims and 125 pages text, with 9 full colour plates. Small octavo (215 x 140mm) bound in full green leather gilt on spine and front board. The dust jacket has some wear and a tear.

The text and pictures were taken from the late young naturalist's letters and diaries. Victorin died in Sweden at the early age of 24 but left us a fascinating record of his visit to the Cape.

Only 1 200 copies were printed of which 100 copies were specially bound in full leather. This copy is numbered 5.
