The mining history of one of the oldest Transvaal towns, located in the old Western Transvaal (now North-West Province). The author was the editor of the local paper - the Klerksdorp Register. He was also the son of the famous Klerksdorp printer and publisher Herbert Melville Guest, who wrote and published a series of books about the Boer War during, and in very close proximity of, the conflicts. Like his father he was also a mayor of Klerksdorp and held office from 1923-26.
An uncommon title.
