A remarkable book, detailing the expedition against Chief Malaboch, of Blaauwberg, District Zoutpansberg, South African Republic, 1894, to which is appended a synopsis of the Johannesburg Crisis of 1896, just before the start of the Boer War.

Numerous photographs and illustrations, frontispiece of the author. Folding map at rear. Red cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine.  19 prelim pages. Pp 1-248. Pages untrimmed.

Bookplate of Harry Osborne Buckle on fep. (It seems that this could be Advocate Buckle arriving in South Africa in 1899) A copy in neat condition.
