This is a rare 1937/1938 Promotional Playbill Herald for Walt Disney's historic first animated feature film, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. It was distributed by RKO Radio Pictures as the film was debuting. Local movie theatres used the blank half of the verso to print their specific screening schedules and ticket prices. This copy promotes screenings of the film at the Greytown Cinema on January 20th. and 21st. - almost certainly in the year 1939.This time line mirrors exactly when major Hollywood film prints finally reached rural South African distribution routes after premièring in the major cities like Johannesburg and Durban. Thus this item is of importance not only in regard to early Disneyana, but also in the the early history of the film industry in South Africa.
