Original blue cloth boards with a cream vellum spine. Suspected age related wear and slight discolouration to the vellum). Embossed brass British South Africa Company crest fixed to the front board. Hand-made paper with rough-cut fore and lower edges.
Illustrated with coloured maps and sepia photographic plates/portraits.
Condition: A good, solid copy. The vellum spine is intact. Minor light foxing to the verso of the frontispiece and some plates. Slight discoloration and wear to the lower edge of the top board and the top and middle of the lower board.
Notes: This is a celebratory history of the company, printed and made for the British South Africa Company by Herbert Fitch & Co. Ltd. in London. Set in Monotype Poliphilus.
Includes a dedication slip pasted onto the front free endpaper which is an one-page message from the author to the staff (see photograph).
