Condition: contents and binding in good condition, page edges gilt, occasional light foxing to the text, title page hinge split; the blue cloth boards are showing considerable wear, scuffing and rubbing, particularly at the spine, heavy edge-wear and bumped corners.
This volume covers the period from Sir Christopher Wren and the Papal Bulls, commencing in 1717 and extending to early British Freemasonry in 19th Century England (Legend of the Craft, Light and Darkness, Gothic Traditions, etc.)

Condition: very good - the blue and gilt front board is bright, corners bumped, spine lightly faded with light wear at head and foot; the text is entirely blemish-free, the illustrations are in excellent condition, paper toned with age, rear inner hinge split, inner hinge at p. 249 (the first page, as this is a continuation of Vol. III) split.
This volume covers the period of early British Freemasonry (1688-1723), the Grand Lodge of England, Freemasonry in York, The Grand Lodge of Alpina (Switzerland), Greece, Denmark, The Grand Orient of Hungary, St. John's Grand Lodge of Hungary (extinct), and present Grand Lodge of Hungary.
Illustrations include: Arms of Masons (coloured plates), Grand Lodge Seals and Carpenters (coloured plates).
