A first edition, second impression (stated) of the second volume in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
The publisher's original red cloth binding is worn and split at the hinges. Internally the book is clean although there is discolouration to the fore edge of the front endpaper where the cloth binding has bled through. The map, which was originally tipped in and not bound in, is absent.
A good candidate for rebinding.
