The original Groot Constantia burnt down in December 1925. This gave the opportunity for a complete reconstruction, little more than piecemeal work having been carried out on an ad-hoc basis as necessary over the preceding years. Thus today we can all see the restored building in a better state than would have been otherwise. This text looks at the house and what was discovered of the construction, and covers in detail the methods of repair and restoration used to closely match the original in every way.

Re-backed, new eps (with blue bookplate), original heavy boards retained but with new cloth spine in lighter blue in secured protective wrap. A very clean and sound copy with excellent unmarked contents.
