A set of quality prints by Stephen Henning, artist and butterfly specialist, signed and numbered by the artist. 

This set of 4 signed prints is number 145 of 350. The prints are housed in a folder giving information on the butterflies illustrated. Prints and folder are in very good condition 

The prints illustrate specific butterflies:
  • Charaxes karkloof trimeni Rydon (Trimen's Charaxes)
  • Poecilmitis mithras Pringle (Brenton Opal)
  • Thestor brachycerus (Trimen) (Knysna Skolly)
  • Aorachrysops niobe (Trimens) (Brenton Blue)

Stephen Frank Henning holds a doctorate in Zoology and was a founding member of the Lepidopterists Society of Southern Africa. 

He is also a very talented wildlife artist and works in watercolours, pencil and ink. Several of his publications and books are illustrated with his pen and ink drawings of butterflies.Stephen has always had an active interest in natural history In 1960 under the encouragement of
their father Bill Henning, he and his brother Graham they started collecting butterflies and over the past years have built up the largest private collection of butterflies in southern Africa. Together they have also discovered many new taxa, some of which are named after them.
