Octavo (8 ¾ x 6 inches; 222 x 153mm). Pp.[1-]7-132. Decorated general title and four decorated section titles by Wyndham Lewis (‘Envoi’ does not have a separate section title, all the other poems do). (Some toning). Original vellum, upper cover and spine lettered in gilt, yapp fore-edges, top edge of book-block gilt, the other edges uncut (Some soiling).  Provenance: Clive Alexander Barnes (1927-2008, gift inscription from his mother, dated 1944, ‘Clive A. Barnes’ ex-libris stamp to front free endpaper).          

Rare: first edition, signed limited issue, number 24 of 40 copies ‘printed on English hand-made paper’ and signed by the poet, of this collection of satirical poetry – this copy has the additional attraction of having belonged to English writer and theater and dance critic, Clive A. Barnes. The trade edition was published simultaneously. Morrow & Lafourcade A21a.
