Camp and Tramp in African Wilds, E. Torday describes the author's long trek through the Congo regions of Central Africa with emphasis on rituals, life styles, religion, etc., of the native peoples he encountered. There are also incidents of hunting lion, leopard, hippo and buffalo (Czech, 285). Original burnt orange cloth with gilt native vignette on upper cover and bright gilt spine titles, cloth lightly soiled with a faint stain to the spine. The endpapers are original and are opening at the inner hinges, but the text block and covers remain tight and sound. Well illustrated with photo plates and a folding map.
