This is a very well preserved copy of the deluxe edition bound in red leather with page edges gilt; clean with no inscriptions except for a small price notation in pencil at the top corner of the front endpaper. The margins of the endpapers are lightly toned and the leather boards are showing light wear, more so at the spine.
The name 'L. Bafo' is gilt embossed on the lower left corner of the front cover, as apparently the deluxe copies were customised with the owner's name, making this a unique copy.
A certain 'Isiah Bafo' appears on page 122, with a note that states: "employed in the compound at East Geduld until his recent retirement. He joined the industry in 1902 and has worked at Simmer and Jack, Knights Central and E.R.P.M."
