Condition of contents: short split to map, otherwise excellent.
Original silvery gray satin embroidered binding with gold threads, sequins, and metallic thread, upper cover with the centrally-placed Portuguese Royal Arms, decorative surround and border, the lower cover with a central rural scene: a shepherd with two of his flock, similar decorative surround, the flat spine with overall applied design, cream satin endpapers, gilt and gauffered edges, thin woven thread place marker; contained within original red morocco two-part case, the exterior tooled in gilt, the interior lined with decorative green and red patterned paper.
Condition of binding and case: slight discoloration to cloth of binding, otherwise excellent (see images); old rubbing and scuffing and one small split to case, but otherwise excellent.
