Follows the war chronologically with text and illustrations culled from the weekly Illustrated London News. A colonial view of the war with some 200 illustrations. The original illustrations are now extremely collectable. Not generally realised is that the sketches by the various war artists were sent to Britain from South Africa and rendered by engravers working on teak wooden blocks. Foreword by David Rattray.
