Second (Enlarged) Edition: xxxiii +142 pages and 119 lithographic plates each partly hand coloured, recent quarter green cloth with marbled paper sides, a very good copy.

From the preface: ‘The first edition was published in the Transactions of the South African Philosophical Society, volume V, part I, 1888 and contained 36 plates. This edition was edited by Harriet M.L. Bolus and Alice M. Greene, the publication being delayed by the First World War. All the species recorded from the Cape Peninsula are figured here except Acrolophia sphaerocarpa (schltr. and Bolus) and Pterygodium bifidum Schltr. of which no specimens have been found by us or by any other living collector to our knowledge.'
