First Edition, First Impression, (viii), 158, (ii) pages, illustrated throughout with the line drawings by Ernest H. Shepard in the text, original green cloth titled and decorated gilt on the spine and upper cover, map of '100 Aker Wood' as endpapers, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, a near fine copy in the dust jacket with the 7/6 net on the spine and 117th Thousand at the head of the rear flap, the spine is lightly sun toned and chipped at the top, light offsetting from the jacket on the endpapers.

"His arms were so stiff... they stayed up straight in the air for more than a week, and whenever a fly came and settled on his nose he had to blow it off.
