How it works

Cameron was despatched by the Royal Geographical Society to come to the aid of Livingstone. However, the latter had already died and the expedition met up with the explorer's entourage bearing his body. Cameron decided to press on; he retrived Livingstone's papers at Ujiji, explorerd Lake Tanganyika further and then endeavoured to trace the connection to the Congo River ( in which he failed) but continued westwards to become the first European to cross the continent. 389 + 366 pp plus 12 pp ads; with all engraved plates present, MAP MISSING from pocket at rear. In somewhat threadbare covers, bumped corners, but good, clean textblocks, ownerships in prelims
