Sampson, Low, Marston and Co. 1909 539pp, blue boards with gilt lettering and decoration on front and spine. Spine is worn at edges, otherwise boards in fair condition(but with scaring and scuffing). End Paper has St. John's College Stamp. Internally condition is excellent.
Stanley wrote the first nine chapters before his death, and Lady Stanley drew the remainder from her husband's journals, letters, and notebooks.
