(Small splits to maps, damage to final text leaf caused by having map tipped to verso.) Original blue cloth, blocked in blind, gilt titling blocked to the middle of the upper cover (gilding somewhat faded, some scuffing and bumping, stitching a bit loose). Provenance: Dr. Cornelia M. Clapp (1849-1934, presentation label from “With Compliments of the Commissioner”).
Presentation copy with attractive large scale colored map of Jamaica. The contents (as reflected in the chapter headings) included: a “descriptive account of the parishes of Jamaica; Columbus and Jamaica; later history; sport in Jamaica; the Blue Mountains of Jamaica; the Climate of Jamaica; and statistical information about Jamaica.
