The book was compiled by Van Schoor, S I Malan and J J Oberholster and published on the order of the \"General de Wet statue unveiling committee\". The frontispiece illustrates a representation of the statue.
The drawn-on patterned ivory paper boards with facsimile of De Wet\'s signature to the panel, are present but detached, chipped and torn. The 176 pp book, profusely illustrated in the text and side-stitched, is unmarked, crisp and undiscoloured. The half-title page has an erasure at the top-right.
