This is a copy of the original Dutch version - De Herinneringe van de Boer-generaal C R de Wet - written during the voyage to Europe at the end of the war
- As De Wet writes in his preface, this was the only version for which he took responsibility, not being familiar with the other languages into which his work was translated
- Remarkably, this is a copy of the 13th impression, still dating from 1902, the year the war ended
Cream cloth-boards, with design and lettering to the upper panel and spine embossed in brown and black (see first image), plain endpapers, sepia painting and facsimile signature of De Wet as frontispiece, 512 pp of prelims and text, with many full-page and smaller illustrations in and paginated with the text
- A better than very good copy, with tight, square and unrubbed binding and contents complete, unmarked and unfoxed
- The first text page has a minor tape repair (see the sixth image)
