The spine has been repaired in blue leather, with the original grey cloth-boards, gilt embossed to the front cover, neatly preserved. The corners are rubbed. The new plain endpapers are unmarked and their whiteness contrasts with the rest of the book which is sunned and has a brown stain on an early page. The book\'s vi + 212 pp of text are all present and unmarked. They are augmented by a monochrome frontispiece and some one dozen other inserted plates.
The book appears to be from the 1890s but we have not so far found another copy.
