Register

This envelope and handwritten card, addressed and written in Dutch to "Den Heer Jonnie van Rynevild, Phillipolis, in den Oranje Vrystaat, Over den Grote Rivier", has the 8 August 1938 postmark of the first day of the Ossewa-Trek, commemorating the start of the Voortrekker movement one hundred years before. The Ossewa-Trek left Cape Town on that day and ended at the newly built Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria more than three months later, on 16 December 1938.

Both the envelope and the card are in very good condition.
