Provenance: Edwin L.  Weisl (1897-1922, lawyer, close friend of President Johnson, Paramount pictures board member, author’s presentation inscription “To Ed Weisl / who was one of / the Main Event Gentlemen / of my Chicago / good wishes / Ben Hecht”).

First edition inscribed by the author to a well-connected Hollywood executive: this is the last book published during Hecht’s lifetime and inscribed copies are quite rare.
