Although it is short, this is one of the few authoritative books on the Griquas under Adam Kok III and their trek to and settlement in Nomansland (East Griqualand), as well as on the early white settlers in the area.

The dustjacket is price-clipped and chipped and stained at the top. The green Skivertex boards, gilt to the front and spine, are in almost new condition and the binding is tight, even stiff. The plain endpapers and v + 185 pp of text, map, photographs numbered with the text, appendixes, bibliography and index are unmarked and undiscoloured.
