A very good copy of this South African classic in first edition, first impression state (with all points including the dung beetle). The original green cloth has some areas of slight rubbing with light creasing of the spine but less wear at the spine ends than is usual. The gilt lettering and illustration of Jock on the front board is quite bright. There is a name and date (Xmas 1907) on the front free endpaper. The endpapers have very light foxing and the front hinge has two small areas of cracking (see image). Internally the book is clean and tight and the pages are bright and essentially without foxing. Altogether a better than average copy.
