Meintjes is unusual in being both a prolific writer and painter. Pieter Marincowitz\'s appreciation is followed by reproductions of 50 of the artist\'s paintings, two in colour.
The grey dustjacket is chipped and torn, and the tipped on illustration has been removed. The green cloth-board covers are rubbed at the corners and the spine extremities. There is a small unclosed tear to the front free endpaper, which carries an owner\'s name and address, and there are vertical brown stains on the back endpapers. The rest of the 52 pp book is unmarked and undiscoloured.
