Teleset D. Mark V, metal case, headset with cable,,strap marked 1940, instructions for use inside lid of case, 260 x 150 x160mm, condition:very good.
The Teleset D Mark V is a portable DC line Morse telegraph. It was devised in 1915 by Captain (later Maj.Gen) A.C. Fuller of the British Signal Service. The main feature of the Teleset D Mark V (also known as the Fullerphone) is that transmissions are immune from overhearing. This made the system ,at the time, suitable for use in forward areas. Widely used in World War II, an example being the extensive use by the Australians in New Guinea (Wireless for the Warrior,Louis Meulstee).
